Our Story
Founded in 2011 by Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre (MMHRC), MCAHS is affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. Our journey began with the course B.Sc. Accident and Emergency Care Technology (AECT) program. And expanded in 2013 to include the highly sought-after courses: B.Sc., Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) & B.Sc., Medical Record Science (MRS)
Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences managed by the S.R. Trust and a division of Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai. Our College was established in the year of 2011 and affiliated by The TamilNadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. MMHRC has over 30 years of service and is the largest multi-specialty hospital in South Tamil Nadu. It has 800 beds,45 specialties and boasts of its extended infrastructure and services through its medical departments. In addition, the hospital also has an established diagnostic wing with a 24 hour NABL accredited Clinical Laboratory, Nuclear Medicine and imaging sciences. Furthermore, it also provides reliable emergency services through its Accident & Trauma Care Unit, Intensive Respiratory Care Unit, Intensive Medical Care Unit, Intensive Paediatric Care Unit, Intensive Coronary Unit, Neuro Critical Care Unit and the Blood Bank.

Mrs. R. Remuki — Principal
Mrs. R. Remuki., M.Sc., M. Phil (Microbiology)., PG. Dip. TQM.,
A versatile educator, Mrs. R. Remuki has 14 years of excellence in the career of education field. She stepped into MMHRC as a student in the year of 2005 to undergone her under graduation. After the completion of her higher degrees, she was appointed as a Lecturer in Meenakshi Mission Hospital College in the year 2010 as a reward of her academic excellence. Later, she became an Assistant Professor. Based on high performance like sincerity, hard work, dedication and punctuality, now she is promoted as a Principal i/c of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences. She has been striving to improve students’ knowledge and skill to produce the best human resource for healthcare.
I want that our students should be imparted an all-round education so that they become multidimensional rather than uni-dimensional. In my view, acquiring information is no longer the main focus of education; instead the main aim of education is to build the powers of human mind and spirit. We believe in providing our students an environment, rich in knowledge through hands on training in MMHRC and supportive for their extra-curricular interests. We aim to evaluate our students on the basis of their physical, mental, social, emotional and intellectual development. I feel proud to acknowledge the contribution of highly qualified, dynamic and multi- talented faculty, non-teaching staff and my students for maintaining the standard of education. We have to continue to move ahead for producing more young talents to th e field of healthcare.
